It's been awhile, but the cold weather moving in and the call of the hounds are too much to resist. I hope you all have a great weekend behind your hounds. Triston has been sick all week so Shane and I will be dropping out without him. Bill and Mike were unable to come down so we are just going to be running from The house. we won't be camping on the river hopefully next weekend if all goes well.

IF you are able take the next generation with you they are our Future :D :D :D :D

P.S. Cody I hope I see you next weekend

I can't say it was a great night, But it was a blast. Shane and I droped out Buttons and Tank. The first drop was both good and bad. Button's hit first with Tank a close secound. It was a run in a corn field back and forth, bayed up then lost bayed up again. to tell you the truth I got to the point that I didn't think it would end, it had been going on for a good 45 minutes and a couple miles back and forth. I got tired of it and tried to call the hounds in. Button's came in but Tank didn't. after anouther 30 minutes he finally killed it on the ground. Loaded him up and went to another place. Button's struck first then Tank they got tied up in another Corn field but covinced this coon to get out and tree. Nice size Boar he was a good 30 pounds. we poped him out and called it a night, It didn't fill right not having Triston along. Hopefully he will be able to go tonight

looks and sounds good buddy. the way it sounds you could use a little black dog reinforcement on them coon that wanna run.   just kidding them blues can hold there own especially when the boys are handling them. :D

the houndmen you sent my way a few months ago has been bringing the kids along quite a bit lately. we finally popped one out while they were along a few nights back.

the blue pup with the green collar is doing a pretty good job lately. really running track good and treeing decent about fifty percent of the time. LOL. im kinda getting to like the little bugger spooky fast and real track oriented. the best part is everyone thinks she is a black dog. 8) by the way any new pics of buttons litter???

happy hunting, matt.

Susie That sounded great and my senior thought that was pretty cool you calling he listened to your hounds also :D :D :D

Had the honor to run with one of the most senior Bluetick houndmen in the state tonight (Bill Wilson) and his son a good friend of mine (Mike Wilson) They were camped down on the river. Moon was bright every run we had was long. we only saw Five on the outside and two den trees. VERY LOW NUMBER for the river. I wish some of you could of made it down but, like always is a blast to run with one of my seniors :D :D :D :D

:D Awesome~ Did ya talk him into a Black and Tan then?? LOL.. Glad you liked the Music!! You should have heard the Land Owner Music I heard at the next dump.. YIKES.. He came walking down the road waving a pistol..I was hunting in the corn field across the road from his place and Pogo had one old smart one in the field.. She spent a couple hours out in that field... and we were trying to make sure she didnt cross over into his yard... Man did he read me the wriot act... I told him who I was.. he asked who gave me permission to hunt in that field.. I told him the guys name that did.. I told him we had put 6 kitten coon up the tree at the other end of the field.. and he asked if I had shot them.. I said.... No... they are too small... and then he really started bitching at me because he told me he shoots everyone he sees... I reminded him that there is a season on them.. He then backed down.. and put his pistol away.. He told me we scared the hell out of his family.. I explained to him that my dog is on track.. and I surely didnt dump my 3 hounds at the end of his driveway.. he said he kind of had it figured out when he heard me yelling for the hound and her barking..... He asked if I had everyones permission in the area. I told him Yes.. Ive been hunting this area for 30 years and I know everyone that lives here.. so he quized me.. I named them all.. even told him who rented his house before he inherited the place.. He was satisfied with those answers so he told me to call him before we let the dogs go in his area again... All this from a city slicker that inherited 7 acres of land.. lol...

Little one you handled that well, I am impressed, great job, hands down. I know it sounded great on my end of the phone. As far as getting that senior houndman to convert to Black and Tan's, you can put that one on a wish list LOL!!! He and one of the best Black and Tan houndmen I have ever met are great friends (Bill Mack) It's just impressive how these two seniors get along :D :D :D :D I am still not there, seen too many mean ones but have also seen a couple that could eat here any time 8) :D :D :D :D :D

Matt sorry for not responding, with all the great things your doing with the next Generation. IT IS SIMPLY OUTSTANDING and you have my thanks and gratitude :D :D :D :D :D :D You have done a great job introducing new kids to our heritage over the last couple of years and I would encorage others to follow your example. Your hounds are some of the best I have seen in the last couple of years. But more than anything you don't let grass grow under your hounds feet :D :D :D :D Job well done

Thanks

MSG Farley, James L. Ret.

I may be too critical of her after having the pups and the long lay off, but I don't think she is firing on all cylinders yet. She put two possums up she hasn't hit one of them since she was 18 months old     but at the same time we looked at five coons on the outside. she is slower than she was. she used to be able to keep a 16 mph pace now she is down to ten. It may take her a while to get back to form. She still has her nose though she put four up others couldn't smell.

Let me know on the evaluation, if you get that hound regestered I want a pup off of her :D :D I would just like to see how it developes, takes to training, I have never owned a B&T so I would like to try one of your pups.
