i dont eat the coons that i kill but pile them up after their skinned and coyote hunt over them then nothing is wasted and i pulls double duty

I've read some of the replies, I am not of fan of shiners either. But maybe this will help you with what you are wanting to accomplish. You can get some training scent, it's not expensive. Your pups need to learn to use there nose, use the coon scent if that's what you want them to hunt. Make a drag so they can learn to track, take them to the woods with you and walk them through the woods. They're gonna hang around your feet, that's ok. Eventually they will wonder out from you, and start using there noses. They're gonna make mistakes, be patient with them. You didn't say how old your pups are, and I am assuming you are a young fella. I've trained a lot of pups this way and it just takes time and patience, let us know how you are doin. One more thing, where are you from???
