First let me start by introducing myself. I was lead to this site while researching the Ladner line of black mouth curs. I'm from NE Ohio and do a lot of squirrel and white tail hunting, and was kicking around the idea of a Ladner dog and giving coon hunting a shot.
So my question: who has purchased a pup from Mr. Ladner? If anyone has, I'd love to hear from you about how the experience was for you. Specifically I'd like to hear how the communication between you and Mr. Ladner was from "start" to "finish". I'd like to say thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply to this question, and I'd like to recognize one of the members here who took a half hour of his day to talk to me about his pup. Thank you Tup8806, thank you all.

Friend of mine bought 2 a few years for hog hunting and both of them turned out to be really nice bay dogs with a ton of heart and go. One of them was bred a little tighter than the other and he was a little grittier on big hogs. Bred one to a mountain cur and some of them made nice bear, coon and hog dogs.

Thanks guys Mr. Ladner is shipping my pup up north in a week or two. Can't wait. Too bad Ohio's season will be over by the time he's trained.

Yellow I saw a group shot of the litter, all fine looking pups, two with the mask. Not sure if mine has the mask or not, but handsome looking devils for sure.

I didn't ask and he didn't tell. I'll ask the next time I talk to him. He's been pretty busy, so that will probably be when the pup heads up my way.

"Duke" (as decided by our son) was born 11-15-13 and will begin the trip up north on January 5th. Needless to say, my wife, son, and I can't wait. Spoke with Mr. Ladner this evening, Duke is getting big, and he's really healthy. I'm told he's showing a lot of potential

I bought a blackmouth cur from Mr. L.H Ladner in the mid 80's and she made a good coondog only thing I didn't like was she did not bark on track but would blow the top out the tree. She lived to be 12 yrs old and is one of the best dogs I ever owned very smart and intelligent you should be very happy with your choice, good luck with your dog

Duke made it home Friday afternoon. Seems pretty scared of everything, but he's warming up a bit.
