Do ya'll like long legged or short legged dogs. Personally I like small to meduim size dogs, due to the pulling on lead factor. I know, I need to brake the dogs of this, but sometimes pulling up hills I like. Seems like longer legged dogs show more structure problems to me. Just my thoughts.

A small dog is great as long as it gets the job done! I have 2 dogs that are just under 50 lbs and they get the job done fine. I have been in the woods with 80+ lb dogs... a pain to drag around the woods. the bigger the dog the more they eat too!

Long legged dogs. Hunting in the swamp is hard on a short legged dog.

As a general rule a long legged dog is faster, and a bigger dog can often be louder. However I don't pay to much attention to either. I like either a big dog or smaller if they hunt hard and are willing to work.

I like the long legged dog myself. A big dog doesn't break down if you keep them in shape. Sometimes that's hard to do when they get older. I like my males to be a leggy 70-80lbs and my females to be 60-70lbs with legs.
