Sometimes, on a particular farm where I hunt with the land-owner we ride on donkeys that are hung like horses :D

I have not coon hunted off a horse, I dont think one could go some of the places we do but I have bird hunted off one and I like that. Two of my mares are gun broke and you can shoot off of them.

i have it was great on mules when ya had to jump fence but when we on horses we tie them up and then go get the dog and do it over again but most the time i walk

i have but only in my dreams. it's one of the few things i want to do before i die. i want to go somewhere where a mule can go without too much trouble and be able to hunt for many miles of good woods. camp out a few nights and just wear my dogs out, read a good and maybe learn to pray better.

My thoughts exactly! Too many bluffs and cliffs around where we hunt. Honestly never thought of using a horse, but it's a good idea. My husband has been wanting one of those 4x4 Mules though. A guy in South Alabama that trained one of our dogs years ago had one and he loved it.

Ooh yeah we coon hunt off horses about 5 times year or more go down in the bottoms on the river and hunt about 10 to 15 miles lota fun jump creeks and slide down banks in the dark Heck yeah fuel keeps goin as it is we probly be doin lot more of it lot better then drive truck all around on country roads and burnin fuel

Just wondering if anyone on here has, the dogs always follow me through the acres when I take the horses out for a run, shot a few targets in the saddle but havn't got into the hunt yet haha

haha I think anything would of been better then sittin on a back of a stubborn mule , how did the hunt end up overall though ?

WE TREED 3 SINGLES AND 2 HEMLOCK TREES THAT WE COULDNT FIND ANYTHING ON THE LAST HUNT, OLD MAN SILVEY RODE HIS MULES OUT OF THE MOUNTAINS AND I WALKED , WHEN WE GOT BACK TO THE TRUCK HE LOOKED AT ME WITH A FUNNY LOOK ON HIS FACE AND SAID { I HAVE KNOWN YOU ALL YOUR LIFE BOY AND ILL NEVER FIGGER YA OUT !} :roll:
