does anyone want to hunt big cat in west central il p know it sounds funny but i have been asked if my dogs will tree cat i said no but ill try to find someone there are trail camara photos of this cat or cats . deer hunters want it gone il dnr say there are none but one was found dead about 20 miles from here back in 2003 . and foot prints at lake near by

Check biggamehoundsmen.com lots of guys running cats on there might be able to find what your looking for

Is it legal to hunt for them? In Kansas we can only kill them if they are in the act of killing livestock or attacking a person. Better to check it out now than pay fines and serve time later.

We talked to a game warden and his response was "Illinois does not recognize the presence or regulate the taking of mountain lions, goats, or unicorns."

So yes it is ok... Does anyone know how big of a radius these cats have... We have plotted the sightings and its about a 60 mile radius.

Giving the fact that you do not have a large population of cats, the home range of your cat could really be unlimited. Out west cats have competition for home range so they do not range out as far. Here were I live the females tend to range about 10 miles +\- and the real big toms will range around 20 + mile.

They shot one in Whiteside county and it was a male, not sure if this the same cat, only time will tell. the story is online with pictures.

Its not the answer to everyones question.. I never said any questions you have go to bgh that will be better.. For this particular one I think it would be because there are cat hunters from all over the country.. not that many cat hunters on this site that's all
