I am guessing you sit on it and apply the throttle.

roflao, may i sugjest a good camo kit, lol, no man go to a rumage sale and buy a old pair of skis and build a box on top, but i would sugjest youput spacers between the box and skis, about 6 to 8 in for deeper snow, and learn from my mistakes, lol, don't make box any wider than sled, its a lot easier to get home when its in one piece, lol(dogs wouldn't get back in the box for a week)looked kinda like a broke open egg wedged between a tree, lol, with dogs spilled all over

what do you need to haul - what kind of snowmachine ? are you going in deep powder and steep or flat and packed trail-

i strap an airline crate on rack of my sled---when i can get by with that-

makes it tippy ,,ok on trails -

i hauled everything in photo with this home made sled -- lol one trip-

hard packed trail and not much hills

good sled but made of steel pipe and plywood- heavy

Image

heres another-- home made from a pickup liner--

trail only - lots of plactic --lighter -lol

Image

cabelas sled -- no suspension-- sorta heavy

Image

store bought ,
jet sled - this isnt mine - i saved pic to puter --think mite be fred moyers -

Image

these are latest - lol 1/2 a canoe--- factory defects-
or maybe you can fine one been wrecked-

add snowmobile runners to back so they track straight- downhill -

or they will pass you :D

they are a little tippy ---- but they slide along easy - can pull just one in some pretty deep snow-or two on trail freighted

Image

i dont have a pic of another one i use for off trail

its just
two junk snowmobile springs and skis - with a pole and rack attached and i strap airline crate on it-

i guide rabbit hunters in the winter- have to haul some big loads --what i really need is a snow cat - lol

lol ive tried all kinds of crazy stuff -

if u can find a kevlar or plastic canoe---try it ,you will like it - lol

i have always used lightest snowmobile i could find because i haul it on back of small truck- tundra or bravo long track - i dont like to pull a trailer -

they got , no power -almost no suspension - they are tippy--

they will pull a load, on a packed trail and they float pretty good on deep snow - or thin ice -- - you can grab a ski and pull one out if stuck - they are pretty cheap on gas - i sorta hate them -just like i hate small trucks -lol and will probably always have one -

i wished they still made elans - :D

seriously i dont know a thing about the more modern snowmobiles-- fast sleds are everywhere but make sure you get one that you can go slow with--

i got a yamaha vk540 for sale -its a tank -

--cheap--- needs work -

it has hi lo range - it will pull like bulldozer-u can ride 3 on the seat - uses too much gas for me

we built racks for the back of the sled so a sky kennel sits on the tunnel. We have a lot of roads to run but have to manuever around alot of gates and kelly humps so we find trailering is a bit of a hassle. I agree with Pete, smaller and fan cooled is the way to go. Unless your waist deep in it you do not need to putt around on a rocket. IMO

by puting a crate on the back of a snowmobile like spanky dose what type of sled and how many dogs can you haul looks more simple that way instead of towing
