What do you hunt or prefer to run on coyotes?

I couldn't vote on the poll because of only one option. I run Blueticks, a Plott, couple Leapard Curs, and a Redbone right now.

I run Blueticks and have pretty much run it all in the last 45 yrs and as long as the dog is getting it done, color and breed has nothing to do with it. Training is the key to having a good yote dog.

I have a little Mt cur that has a very cold nose that has come to be an outstanding dog. He is just a little small to kill one he will try. I have a bmc for back up for him. Working to get a few more started next year should be good.

all i own is redbones, but will hunt anything that can run a track to my likeing. personally i like a slower hound as i prefer to be in the woods, not a truck chasing hounds.

I have a walker and walker/trigg cross. We run mostly walkers, a july or two, some plotts, some blueticks (yep on yotes- SHHHH.) We have a few deer proof, jump dogs and can run on dry ground or snow. We don't usually release more than one or two, sometimes three hounds at a time and that's if we hunting a large area and letting go at three locations. We've got too many roads to run more than that except in select areas. We don't use ATV's or snow machines so we draw as little attention to ourselves as possible. We may not kill as many as the next guy, but we get a good workout, have an enjoyable time (time after time) and don't get hassled from the game commission at all and from the public on rare occassions. We're respectful and thoughtfull to those that allow us to hunt thier land and often expand rather than lose hunting oppertunities when folks see how we hunt and how we act. There's a bunch of ways to do it and I don't look down on those that cruz around on atv's or snow machines, just think there's more negatives than postives to thier use in too many situations. Paul Conway.
