i have a black and tan as you can see in my signature but i was wondering how many dogs you run in your pack and what you look for to put in your pack...im sure it depends on what i want as far as cold nose etc but i just want to know what you particularly look for in the hounds you are going to use to hunt big game

Balance with brains.

I have an 8 dog pack, I look for brains, fight -fight is the most important- too much can be a dead dog and too little lets the bear do all the thinking,speed when I say speed I want a dog that runs hard at the front of my pack, but still stays with the pack, and I like my dogs to balance out the faults in my other dogs. I have a few walkers and a plott right now, but have had almost all colors in my pack and my favorites are really red dogs. Most of all I like the dogs that fit MY personallity best, meaning they hunt at my speed and know I am boss.
I have hunted your territorry for quite a few years and every year in the keewenaw near you, I quit hunting the baraga plains because of the wolves. Good luck building a pack and dont trust anyone else to have your best interest in their mind. Get your dogs for you not them
