Before the garin astros came out I had a young hunting friend that had a GPS and man he was good with it . I would break a twig he would set a way-point. Our hounds were treed and we were walking on a old logging road before I left that road I looked at my compass, we were headed north .Three of us were hunting together got to the tree started shining it and my old preacher friends light started going out .I told him to follow me I had marked the road with my compass and the stars.I told the young man with the GPS to follow us but he chose to look at the GPS and off to the truck he went.My old friend had been raised in that bottom and knew everything about it my friend said,Where is he going? I said to the truck he will beat us to the truck. But that old friend said the way he's going is right but there is a large duck slugh and he is walking right into it. So we got back to the truck not a sign of that young man. In just a little while got a cell phone call it's the young man with the gps. The call went something like this,I am waste deep in freezing water,the batteries in my gps has gone down, if I don't make it back alive please tell my wife and kids. I got on the cell and began to talk him through it. The stars were shining bright so I told him to Look Up at the moon and the little dipper I guided him to saftey with what god had made. That young man never forgot that because all the toys and tools we have and been blessed with that are man made will fail us, but remember in times of trouble you can look up for help
