Take the dog to the vet. Different type treatments may be required - Injection, oral, shampoo.

Most times, if a dog has a staph infection, there is another underlining problem as well.

If the educated vet's opinions is best to put the dog down, go to a different educated vet and get their opinion.

You have only mentioned the dog has staph, you didn't list any details.

Apparently the problem is severe that the vet's opinion is put the dog down.

Gives us more about the dog and what is going and on what the vet said about what is causing the staph and etc....

Asking can it be cured is a loaded question............Yes, dogs are cured with staph.........but they also die.........Just like cancer, it can be cured but people also die from cancer too.

Provide us more info in the forum about what the vet is saying.......there are 2 vets the visit this section and may chime in but they would probably want to know more about the dog and what the vet is saying is wrong.
