Is there anyway to tell if a dog is getting dehydrated? I live in town so I bring them in at night and feed them. I put 1.5 to 2 cups of water on there food. Each dog is in a 2'x 3' kennel at night. In the morning I let them out and give them fresh water but they won't drink any of it. lately the water seems like it haas a higher chlorine content then normal. My told me years ago that water is just as important in the winter to maintain body heat. Alot of the dogs he sees that die in the winter die from dehydration not lack of food.
