My B&T is losing his hair and has sores on the top of his paws. this only happens when he isn't hunting much and is in the dog house a lot. anyone know what would be causing this?

I dont know for sure but just guessing, maybe he is chewing or licking on them from boredom or maybe laying on them weird somehow.

I use wheat straw in my houses and in my dogbox. I am not sure if treated wood would mess with them but maybe you can find an msds on the chemical used in treated wood. Material safety data sheet btw

It should list the precautions and can be found on the Internet. You can also call them but I don't know the number off the top of my head.

Thats normal for a coondog. All they do all day is lay around. Hell eventually have them on he knees and sometimes hips to. They will callus up but will be fine. Its just from layin around and rubbin on them all day. Every coondog ive ever had does this

Its From Allergies. U Can Give Him Benadryl And It Should Help Him. For Whatever Reason When A Dog Has Allergies They Usually Lick The Heck Out Of There paws. Dont Give Em It Later In The Day If U Plan On Huntin Them Cause It Makes Em Drowsy. If Ur Using Straw Or Hay For Bedding That Could Be The Cause Of The Allergies. i've Always Had Good Luck With Pine Or Cedar Shavings.
