Post subject:  Broken foot

After walking the dogs to the truck the other night we noticed my buddies dog limping and she was bleeding on her front foot. My first thought was she got into a trap. Ended up taking her to the vet and it was broken. Feb 5th season goes out, can anyone give me an idea how long a broken foot typically takes to heal?

Im just gonna say that it probably wasn't a trap. Being a trapper I have caught myself a bunch of times. No broken fingers yet. Unless it was a beaver trap it is unlikely the broken foot is the cause of a trap

I dont know anything about trapping i just guessed thats what happened. We were hunting on state ground and i knew there were trappers there the week before. It could have been anything though really. Im just hoping she will be healed by feb but i dont want to push her either

I know this is a old post. How is the dog doing? Yes It could be a trap that did this. A 1.5 coil spring has enough holding power if a dog thrashed around enough it could break its foot. A lot of traps could break its foot that are on the market. Even the trap that got the guys finger. I bet he didn't just try to pull it out in a bunch of different directions like a dog would thrashing around trying to get free.

Shes doing just fine now. We were hunting on state ground, but trappers had first dibs on it i just figured someone left a trap out there by mistake or something.
