i feed mine in the morning, around 6 or so. so I dont have to feed them before i got huntin, and htey wont flip their gut, and right after huntin i dont feed em for the same reason. if i hunt all night and dont get home untill 7 in the mornin, then i feed 11 to noon ish.

I feed twice a day because I have to feed my horses 2 times so my dogs are on the same scheduale. First around 6 a.m. and I either feed them at about 4 or 5, or after we get back from hunting. They flip their gut because they eat it so fast and air gets in their stomach, they are literally inhailing it, if I feed them twice a day they dont have the need to eat so fast.

i feed my dogs twice a day, when i get up is the morning and as soon as skools out, but that stomach flipping over is when a large dog eats too fast and gets air pockets around the stomach,

The actual amount you feed varies depending on the dog. some take more some take less.
On average our dogs eat 1 1/2 cups at 2 times a day. 1 cup 3 times a day would be better but not likely do to family schedules We lost a really good red bone to the bloat. thats what its called when their stomach turns over. The vet told us to divide their food up into smaller meals because the gass can cause this problem if they eat to much, eat to fast, or play realy hard and roll around right after eating. The vet also said its best not to feed for at least 2-3 hours before putting them in a vehicle. and to wait about an hour after you unload them.
I hope none of you ever have to watch you dog die from this it was horrible and my mom cried for days because she was the one who feed that morning and had to take redman to the vet.
