It was bout 15 degrees here in sw Mississippi and i went to a 40 acre plot of land that belonged to my Grandad. Got there before daylight and got next to a bever dam to shoot some ducks. Ducks came in right at daylight and i got my limit on two fly ins. About 50 yds from the bever pond i had a deer stand. It was a box stand on the ground. I put my shot gun in the truck and got my rifle out and went to the stand.
Bout 30 mins later a small 4 point came out and i watched him bed down in the broom sage. Bout 10 mins later a yote came out of the same area and was trailing the 4 point. I shot the yote.
It was a cold morning and a good frost and i just set in the stand kinda dreading cleaning the ducks. After a few more moments i decided I'de smoke a cig and get up and leave. As i stood up to leave the shootin house there was a 2 inch crack on top of the door and i saw a 9 point walking toward the stand bout 50 yds behind me. I set back down and waited just a few minutes and he was 30 yds out the right hand window.His hair was raised and he was headed toward the 4 point. I eased the rifle out and took him.
I knew no one would believe this so i left the woods and went to the little store up the road from my house and set there for a while and showed everyone that came in LOL.
I was out of the woods at 8:15 with a bag full of ducks , a bitch yote and a nine point.
