well for the first time in my short coon hunting career the coon bite me. we shot down a nice big coon to my started female to get her blood going the other night. when the coon came down he couldnt use his back end at all but didnt stop him from wanted to whip the hell out my dog. as i was trying to get the dog off to kill the coon the coon got a hold of my paint leg. luckly he only got my pants and no meat but he wouldnt let go for nothing it ended up taking a blow to the head from my friends maglite to get him to let go. pretty funny scene the coon had me and the dog had the coon just a big tug of war it was.

That would freak me out. I wouldn't have stood still enough for the buddy to hit the coon. I've had large boars that will charge at you or the dogs and I always jump back about a mile. I had a buddy in high school that was determined he was going to get a coon down from a skinny tree one night out of season. He climbed half way up and the coon came running down right over his back. He almost let go of the tree.

Sounds kinda interesting. I trap a lot of coons in live traps and a lot of house cats. The funny thing is when you turn a coon out he will become real cautious like then he will run. The dog gone cats will climb your leg and insist on leaving 1-2 foot scratch marks.
