1. At most I will live for 10 to 15 years, and I will hunt the best I can for you if you will be good to me.
2. Please take it easy with the shock collar, and be patient and give me a little time to understan what you want for me.
3. Place your trust in me, bc it is in my genes for me to do the best I can.
4. If you get mad at me don't be mad for long. You have your work your friends and your entertainment. I only have you. Please don't lock me up as punishmet.
5. Talk to me. I do understand your tone of voice even if I don't understand your words. And a little pat on the head or side, or scratch under the chin is nice too!
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will nevr forget it.
7. Before you strike or hit me, remember that I could hurt you to. Yet I choose not to bite you. I'm not called mans best friend for nothin.
8. You know I might not be feelin good sometimes when you think I am lazy or not meetin your expectations. Ask yourself if somethin might be botherin me? Perhaps I'm not gettin the right food, or amybe I have been in the sun to long, or I might have some entenal parasite you don't know bout, or maybe i am an old dog now and my heart might be gettin weak.
9. Speakin of old, please take care of me when I grow old. You to will grow old.
10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bare to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everythin is easier for me if you are there, bc I love you so.

I like this. Ive faced all those, I have an older dog now that still hunts well for me, yet i do have to give him a little more care than my younger dogs. And I've had to put one older walker dog down, as well as the famly black lab. And it wasnt easy by any means, but I was right there with them, because they were like family members to me. And as hard as it is for us, imagine what they are feeling.

Wow... I really felt that. I had to put a 13 yr old beagle down just last week. The whole way to the Vet I just kept thinking about the day I picked her up & the early days of training in the field. The first rabbit she ever opened on.. Etc...
It was very diffucult to hold her while the Vet injected her.. I was still petting her when he told me she was gone. Wow

What a GREAT post!!!! I have a 10 mos. Male Walker pup that drives me crazy sometimes! I don't always understand what he wants, needs, or is doing but I have YET to beat him for ANYTHING and he's fixin to be the next Gr.Nt.Ch. from Sycamore,Oh!!!
Don't EVER, EVER think you need to beat a dumb animal to teach them something. NO animal EVER deserves to be mistreated or beat because they don't do exactly what you want them to do to be a good hunter.
Please everybody, PLEASE have patience and remember your dog is only doing what he/she thinks will make you happy. That's just "WHAT THEY DO"!!!!!
Dogs don't need to be beat to learn, they need LOVE and PATIENCE!!!!
