my redbone female i have had since she was a pup treed a possum for me one night and to tell you the truth she stayed treed for about 30 minutes because i didnt believe her and my male was treed as well so i went to him and shot out the coon then made my way to her. She was posted up under a grinner. It was the first time she has ever treed anything by herself and i was not mad at her even though it was a possum. The next night she went out and treed a coon my herself within 10 minutes. Its like something just clicked in her head. All i ever did was show her a caged coon and made a drag with her. Other than that i let her be a pup and run with older dogs. I think she will turn out to be a good meat dog. I was one proud owner when she had that coon.
