i cut my redbone loose right behind the house lastnight. i kept my bluetick on lead and i let my redbone hunt out. after 10min she opened up and i heard here moving out across the field. she was hot on the track and i thought she was on a deer. she hammered hard for a good 5min on the track then went silent. i just waited for her to figure stuff out. she opened up again but stayed in the same spot that she had last barked. i let her work the track before i moved in on her (she was about 150yds out). as i moved in on her she hadn't moved from the spot she was barking from. when i finally made it to her she was in the SH** with a big coon. she had caught up with him in the field. i turned the bluetick loose on the fight. it lasted about 20min but they finally got the job done. i thought letting my dog loose to get some exercise was a good idea until she ran down the biggest coon i've seen this year.

i hated seeing my two pups struggle but i know it will just make them better dogs in the end.
