how many of you has had much luck getting a coon out of a den? my buddy's and i have managed to get 6 out of den trees without smoke. which is how my older brother and uncle use to do it. it worked but took a long time.

Smoke is the only way I know . Have had people talk about twisting b wire or briars in their fur but thank they was blowing smoke lol

well this year i know we got lucky a few times 3 times in a row when we shot them they just climbed up and out of the den haha

i use a forked sapling. poplar is best you can get one around 25 feet and it still be flexible enough to get the job done. cut the fork on the end about a half an inch on each side. sharpen each side like a pencil. run it up inside the tree until you fill the coon then start twisting.

i'm curious,,, why dink around trying to get a coon out of a den insted of just turning the dog loose to tree one on the outside some where else.

A method we use if the tree is small enough you can hit it with a three pound sludge hammer and it sends them flying out the tree because the whole tree will vibrate larger trees don't seem to work as well

If it's in a den but you can still see him, shoot just right under him and he'll come out in a hurry :D . I know this works cause we've done it several times.

when I treed a coon and he got in a den he wins.what you need is better dogs get him before he get there,he should win and go find another ,that is bad sportmanship. shame on you.
