Me and three buddies went out last night. Turned the dogs loose after a while they treed (slick). Moved them on and treed in a big den tree. Went along the creak bank for about 150 yard or so and cut them loose one last time. Dogs milled around in front of us some them moved up the hill back the way we came. First dog opened up then my little Blue dog, then the last one. All three dogs were flat burning up the trail. We listened and noticed they were heading back to us. About 20 yard through the brush you could hear something running. Thought it might have been a young dog leading the way just not opening up, our three dogs were still burning it up. Dogs tracked it on up the hill and treed. We made our way to the tree and got there only to see a 100lb bear looking down at us. So we found out what was running though the brush. A very exciting way to end the nights hunt.

Coon and bear are from the same family believe it or not. Both of their scents are similar but bear is just a stronger smell. So with it bein so close and bein a bear that would be y they burned up the track. A buddy of mine has a bluetick out of real old big fame blood and anytime he would his dog with one of his litter mates they would usually tree atleast one bear. His dog is Cameron and vaughn
