i thought about that. might work to get one actin' mean but might just scare him more. Well, about 3 weeks i'll try again. He did get out in the woods better last time out. Just took off for about 15 minutes. Hope he does that at night.

Yeah thats possible the first one we showed ours was a little agressive and the first time it growled it scared him real bad then once he got used to it he went nuts on it!!!!!!

My pup is almost 10 months but I've decided to wait intil he's a year to start him. We let him run loose a couple hours late every night. He takes off, stays out 'til I call him so he might start by himself. I'd like to go out some night and hear him treed.

Redbone456, good time to get him used to working with other dogs now that he knows how to work alone.

Yeah I am really hoping an older dog will trigger it in him

Well when I showed my hound his first coon he was 7 months and not quite ready. Decided to wait until 1 yr old to try again. If catch a coon tonight, he'll see it tomorrow - his first birthday. Hope he goes for it cause I'm too old to manage more than 1 dog and want one to hunt this Fall.

Just an update on this redbone he is turning into one hell of a hound! He ran a big coon last night for about 30-45 minutes coon tried throwing him but it ended in a tree! Dog is just over 1 1/2 years old

This is him at the tree when we got to him

Forgot all about this thread, unfourtantly this dog got loose the other night and was hit by a car on a main road that's close to my house, I like to think he was running a coon but I don't know for sure
