So, a buddy of mine who has been training and hunting dogs all his life, and originally started with coon dogs but got into coyote hounds, we were out hunting and he has several good dogs but he went to put one of his top hounds on a track he cut him loose the dog went into the woods about 40 yards and turned around and came right back so he caught him and sent him back up again the dog came back, so extremely mad now he hooked him up and said "I'll show you how its done" walked the dog up into the woods only to find the coyote went into the woods about 40 yards and turned around and walked right down its same tracks! Needless to say he was rather embarassed but the dog cold tracked for about a half hour then jumped it! The coyote was missed once by me
I felt real bad as the dogs chased for hours
