Cause they never cease to amaze me. I went out about 9:30 tonight, I have a 2.5 year old blue tick that came along a little slow but is turnin out to be a real world beater. Anyhow, I turned him out right on a creek by the road. He took off hunting for about 40 mins and never struck anything. He was coming up the road comin back to check in, when about 30 feet to the truck he stopped dead, he stood up on his hind legs with his nose straight in the air, he threw a big blood curdling bawl and took off like lightning straight past me down the road for about 3-400 feet, he turned into the bush and within 1-2 mins he was treeing like a champ. I thought for sure he was being a fool, but there in the top of a big monster willow leanin out over the creek was mr ringtail.
Only thing I can figure is since the tree was down in the river hollow the top was about level with the road. He must have winded him when he hit the road and run the wind right in.
Cletis after a hard run. Lol
