So this one nite me and my cousin and his friend went huntin and the dog (a blue tick named " hulk") was doin pretty good we did the last turn out of the nite and were use a tracking system and all of a sudden hulk just stops on the screen and about 570 yards east of us and we thought well let's go see if he's got something. But something was rong. We couldnt hear him bark. We thought the collar sliped off but then we here him wine And we checked every where . Then we look up. Right above our heads is a 150 pound blue tick in a leaned over den tree about 20 feet up! Then after about another hour and a half we finally got him down safe and sound.

A 150 pound Blue dog seems like Hulk is a name that fits

My dog also has the tendency to climb trees. And fences. And kennels. And ladders... She's only gone up about 12 feet and luckily she hasn't gotten hurt. But if there's a coon or a cat, she's unstoppable.

My dad told me a story once of him and his buddy huntin and the dogs treed on a laid over tree and one of the dogs had climbed it so my dad had to take 6 or 7 leads for the truck and tie them togather and crawl up the tree and lower him down and still had to drop him to his friend about 10-12 with all the leads. Crazy. I would never wish this on the worst of hunters!

Friends you are lucky. Friend of mine lost a good hound a few weeks ago that fell from a hung-up tree. I've been lucky to never have a climber. Some think it's so "cool" but they don't consider the danger.

Years ago I belong to a good ole' boy coon club and one of the guys had a small Walker gyp. Called her Tiny, but she was Big Time coon dog. She nearly caught one on the ground and it managed to slip into an old stump snag. She went in after it and wouldn't come out and couldn't be pulled out. Had to leave her and go retrieve a hatchet to chop a hole big enough to pull her out. She was dubbed Tiny the Stump Dog after that.

Alot of good hunting tales out there we ought to label "Believe It Or Not" LOL
