Well Iowa season has been over for a week and Illinois season is over tomorrow- been hunting every night this week and neglecting everything else:)
Last night was a good night. I took my redbone and a friend that has a young redtick and a walker. The first track was kinda rough but they worked together and had it treed a half mile after strike- a 24lb sow coon.
2 more singles, then we had a triple split-tree- 3 dogs, 3 coons, all within 50yrds. then one more double. Then ended the night with a den tree:(
started about 8pm, all done by midnight... then had to walk a mile out packing furs:(

the best part of the hunt- we took a 15 yr old boy and his dad- they hunt but never have coon hunted... And they are HOOKED!!!

Take kids hunting!!!!

We still have until the 15th here in Kansas. I took a buddy of mine out last night who's been asking me all season. He'd never coon hunted either, but he got permission on a couple of new places that were about 3/4 of a mile of (dry) creek (which isn't bad around where I'm at in western/central Kansas). We took my two walkers out and our night wasn't quite as productive of yours, but we got two in the first tree, then one big boar that fought like I've never seen before (cut up my male dog pretty good), and they treed one more before we called it a night. All between 6:30 and 10 pm. I think I'll have to just deal with being tired at work and such this week, because I plan on making this last week count. We only stopped at 10 because it was so windy we couldn't hardly hear the dogs. My friend is now hooked too!
Good luck to anyone else that is out!
