I just bought my first coon hound ( treeing walker ) and went out last night. Turned him out and in no timed he was treed in a swamp bottom. I invited my buddy and his nine year old son and when we got to the tree there he was. I got my buddies son set up and with a crack of the gun down he came and my dog handled the rest. In the matter of 30 minutes of turning him out treeing and shooting two people became hooked for life. If I had a dollar for every time he thanked me I would go out and buy him his own hound lol. Just thought I would share hopefully I can get some more young kids out and keep these traditions going

Congrats man on the coon. And also getting a a kid hooked on it. We got a couple buddies of mine hooked on it this year. It's a good thing.

I went to a local coon hunt about 4 years ago and it got mme hooked. It took me 2 years to get a good dog because I bout 4 hounds that people said they would hunt and they were culls so I bought a pup and trained him myself. A man near me found me on this site and called mme up this past year and we hunted every night we could. He's in his 40s and takes up a lot of time with me and mmy hounds too. If it wasn't for hi I wouldn't have been able to hunt because we don't have enough land. Its people like that that keeps coon hunting alive
