Actually i had been coon huntin few times in my life until one night one of my buddys asked me if he could walk back in my trees and see if there were any coon with his dog. He asked if i wanted to go along so i agreed and i was hooked the moment the dog took off after the coon.

I had been deer, duck and pheasant hunting since I was a kid, ,mostly with my uncles and dad. Got really into duck hunting and when i moved from michigan to iowa I got labs and trained them to hunt ducks and pheasant. A friend of mine that hunts with me for pheasant told me about when he used to coon hunt and took me with a friend of his that had some good hounds. We went out in the summer a few yrs ago and i was hooked before we made it to the first tree! the next season i hunted several nights a week and then got my own dog- now i go about every night!! NOTHIN BETTER THAN HEARING HOUNDS RUN AND TREE!!!
