This is the 1st time I've actually sit down and wrote some stuff down but I made this poem in about 5 minutes for my B&T pup. Here goes.
Little Ann:
Hearing the bawl of 2 excited hounds
Treeing the coon whose scent, earlier they had found
We walked through the moonlit meadow along the treeline
talking and laughing, having a good time
Approaching the tree and shining eyes hoping the coon would peek
while my buddy Brad took his traditional pre-tree leak
The crowing bawls from Trixie, the occasional chop from lil Ann,
2 voices that were to be heard all throughout the land.
Then the bandit fell, after a loud, short crack
from the small cricket which was carried on our back
The fight, only a second, the experience here to stay
Twas the teaching of Trixie to Ann, who gets better day-by-day
Though not yet a hound, but opens up on tracks
Is my little Ann, who does not yet know all the facts
Though someday she will, & her B&T body will shine
The great glory, soon to be hers & mine
Therefore I love her, and will keep her as long as I can
She is mine, My PR' Crabtree's Big Bend Ann
