Is there anyone having trouble with their garmin 320 losing signal with the collar. I've never had a problem until the last two weeks. The unit loses signal with dog standing beside of you, not just one collar but different collars at different times. Garmin said it was the antennas but I put different ones on the collars and it still happens. I know some other guys that are having the same trouble. Can't trust the collars to work. One minute it works then it quits working. I think Garmin has a satellite problem and does't want anyone to know it. Garmin did send me a new new collar but it did it the first night out.

I've had my garmin for 3 years or more not a bit of trouble. Now the collars
(dc 30's) loose signal at 100 yards or less sometimes, both of them. The collars have long range antennas that I put on them. Been on them over a year. I changed the id #'s, reset track memory, calibrated compass etc. my long range antenna makes no difference. Only thing I haven't done but plan on doing tomorrow is taking my collars back apart and check the antenna and see about the connections but what's the odds both loosen up at the same time...
Any ideas ? O and its the astro 220

I did as far as with my fingers but it looks like a small socket would fit on it to make it more tight. I'm not sure

don't try and tighten it with the socket.
it just being loose will not be the problem ,, the problem is usually the wire that connects to that socket fitting is broke inside the handheld. if you go cranking the nut down you WILL break it if it aint already.
when you lose connection with the collar go to the dog info page and see if its says lost gps or lost communication.
if its lost communication then its in the vhf antennas either on the collar or on the handheld. on a working handheld and collar you can remove both antennas, off the handheld and off the collar and it will work to about 100 yrds out. if that's all you get for range with the antennas on and its doing the same with any collar, its a sign that its in the handheld connection for that fitting you are looking at. the wire from the circuit board to the antenna fixture is broke. if you can turn that whole fitting (the threaded part the nut you see is on) around its broke.

Now its working differently & too late, I tighten the nut. I removed the long range antenna on 1 collar and put the original back on. Left the other collar alone with the long range antenna on it. Checked all my connections. The post on the handheld, what the antenna screws, in will not spin around & isn't loose. Turned them on & left the collars on top of the dog box. Drove the 4-wheeler away from them around the road & loose communication not gps reception anywhere from 300-400 yards it varys each trip but always in that range but the stock antenna always looses communication 1st but only 50-75 yards before the other. Then on the return trip to the truck it will not pick either back up until I get within the 100 yard range and it always picks up the long range antenna 1st then the stock 2nd. Also as I drive away the communication strength weakens into the red range on the bars after 100 + yards. Also I can be standing right next to the collars and not have full bars at times it will have one less bar then full.
So I don't know but I'm guessing its prolly in the handheld like u mentioned before TC. It just weird how it started all at once and aggravating since kill seasoned just opened up last night and I took my vacation weeks for it. But this technology malfunction isn't gonna stop me ...lol
Also thanks for your replies TC Your opinions and advise is always greatly appreciated.
