What kind of batteries are you using? I just learned that the unit has a way to let it know if you are using lithium, nimh, or alkaline.

the battery gauge in the unit will not be accurate unless it knows what kind of batteries you are using.

I use rechargeable batteries and take them out to recharge after every hunt. I have used the same batteries since last Oct 2011.

A 320 will eat more batteries than a 220, I go through 1 1/4 sets on my 220 on a long day and long race. I go through almost if not two sets on my 320 on the same scenario. Seems like my 220 will track alright till my batteries go dead and it shuts down, but my 320 even when set for alkiline will start locking up and taking a while to react to buttons when the batteries get low. But I do a lot of panning and zooming to keep up with all my dogs during the race. Use your batteries till they go dead and then change them you won't miss much of the race with the 320 as mine links back up with the collars fast. If I am low on batteries and dogs are headed to a place that is hard to track I will change them before they get there. Seems like once you lose signal on a collar and change batteries it's hard to get it back. Hope this helps a little.
