ok, i don't have a tracker yet...but planning on getting one soon as i can...i want to get the cheapest tracker i can because money is not something i have floating around lol....i don't travel from state to state to hunt...i hunt locally and just want to cut down on them all night hunts.

i've been looking online and i have found two systems the cheapest so far...both run about $499 each...one is the Innotek RD-400, the other is the Tracker Classic....

can anyone tell me anything about either one of these and which one would be the best for me to get? i want something that i can FIND my dogs when i need to...

so far i think i'm most interested in the Innotek RD-400 because it comes with 2 collars and can track more if needed. but just wanting to get some others opinions about the two and especially on the RD-400?

thanks, Kevin

I use an Innotek Command Series and do not have any complaints. Comes with two collars and and will track up to 7 miles. At least 4 miles even in hilly terrain. Don't know about huge mountains.Pet supply store on eBay sells them for around $520. Shipping included. Hope this helps.

Ive heard a bunch of complaints on the innotek...One guy hated his so much.He ran over it with his truck...LOL.......The F-L is a pretty good for the beginner its about $525..Its about the same as a quick track..The Tracker classic is OK....Wildlife also has good ones The trx 3 is not bad.........You can also buy used for about half the price of new. MOST Tracker recs will work for many years if you take care of them..Id get sealed collars they last 6-8 years or longer..The battery life is about 10+ years for most of them...

I got my Trx10 with two Wildlife collars for $375 and it works great. I think if you're really careful, the best way to go is used. Just make sure that the seller is willing to prove how good the thing works.
