What do you all do for a dog box if you have no truck? I had a truck until I got married and had 3 kids so I had to get a Grand Cherokee so I could haul everybody. I saw someone built a box on a hitch haul and used it like that but wouldn't the exhaust fumes get to the dogs?

Ive got a friend with a jeep cherokee.. he made a partition to go behind the rear seat to block off the back of the jeep, he folds down the tailgate and slides his box in and ties it in place.. the drawback is that he cant open the top of the box very far, the good part is it doesnt use four gallons of gas to every mile, and we can still fit four guys in there...

I have a Houndsman Deluxe made for a small truck and it fits in the back of my buddies' Grand Cherokee just fine, except, as was said, you can't open the top very far-but, you also have a back seat to put all your crap in.Not only will exhaust fumes get to the dogs, but if you have to go off road, that receiver hitch deal gets hung up on EVERYTHING!!

I bought a bar setup that keeps them out the back seat and only in the back and a rubber mat to cover the carpet .
