I feed the Diamond Highenergy in the winter for the higher fat and the green bag mixed with the black in the summer. Ive tried several other feeds and that what works best for me .out west are dogs exert alot of energy runnin bear and with a season that runs from april till october its hard to keep weight on good dogs come late summer. Didnt see to many replies from outwest bear hunteers and thought i would pput in my two cents. I have had ok luck with pkc but its a pain in the rear to get.

Eukanuba. Reccomended by my vet for a "store bought" food.

purina Hi-pro. Forgot to add purina in the poll or just got a bad opinion of purina? Old Roy worked just fine for me when I fed it. 1 set of stool a day unless I was feeding a hound a bit more than normal for a specific reason then 2. Liked PMI prime alot, but couldn't get it cheap enough and the folks at JOY wouldn't sell theirs to me directly and the distributer that had it had the price jacked up. There loss. Purina Pro Club is good, but thier price increases bringing the total to 18.99 a bag here in Northeastern PA is pricing them out too, even with coupons. Have heard a lot of good things about sportmix and can get it if I ever get around to checking prices. Paul Conway.

I feed High Standard to my hounds and have found it to be the best i'v found. They need very little compared to diamond, black gold, joy, or Purina. They stay fit and very little stool that has very little smell, and never a recall that I'm aware of. My second choice is TSC brand Retriever in the blue bag. It keeps my hounds in better shape than any of the others except High Standard. High Standard is getting too expensive though so I may go to all Retriever dog food. Retriever does produce a little more stool but keeps them in good shape.

I feed royal canin. It's pricey but my hounds would give their lives for me so the least I can do is give them the best of the best. I have never fed a feed that keeps hounds as nice as what the royal canin does. But u pay for it at 78 dollars a bag. I also kill and butcher a used up old horse every fall and supplement their feed with meat throught hide season and the cold months.
