Yep... 5 dollars a dog plus a dollar per extra letter or number past 2. I think this will be the last branding he does. I thought you could get dry ice at the supermarket?

Yeah, you can get dry ice at some supermarkets, not all though. I'd love it if I was around when somebody (who knew what they were doing) was doing cheap brands! I have no problem with brands but feel squeemish about doing it myself to my own dog.

you can get it at air gas or a welding supply house in your area. you will need acetone to and a clipers. i think there is a link on here for branding or look under freeze branding, i do all my horse's and i will do my dogs too.it is easy as can be any one with a little comen cense can do it.. just buy brass brands , they work the best.

We ordered our from them, works great. We are going to order another one soon. Here is our walker and our plott that have brands. Also here is the link to L&H's website to the direct freeze brand part http://www.lhbrandingirons.com/pg/freeze.asp

Here is silver our plott she was done at 5mos, that is why the brand is a little bigger than duke's as she grew after we branded her.

The walker is duke. He was done with the brand at a year.

Its not the brand that grows, its the dog, a friend of ours branded his dog when he was 12 weeks and it grew 3 inches bigger than what it was supposed to be.

Ever seen a woman with a tattoo on her stomach get pregnant?

I can tell you the tattoo will get bigger as the stomach grows as the skin stretches.

LOL, ever seen that tattoo after she has the baby?

I can see a freeze brand getting larger as a young dog grows. Especially on a 12 week old pup.

I've never branded a young puppy. A brand is something to be earned so to speak. Heres how I understand how a brand works. Verses a tattoo that stretches the skin and spreads it out. The tattoo would also get lighter in color. A freeze brand kills the pigment in the hair follicle. Turning it white. I'm not sure the hair follicles would expand. I maybe I am wrong but can something that is dead, reproduce? I have some scars that I have had since I was a young boy. My 2" scar on my face is still 2 inches. Like I said, I didn't know they could grow. It was news to me. I wonder how.
