dewalt light with extra batteries works great.before that all my dad used was a 9 volt hand held from walmart n thats all alot of people use. |

I have a 6 volt Nite Lite with the halogen head. I like it very much, and it is very, very bright. I used to have a 80s model Night Lite that lasted for at least 10 years (I replaced the battery once and a couple of bulbs). I never had any adverse issues with Hunt Smart and plan on buying my 8 year old son a new Nite Lite. |

I just went out to my Mom's house and got my Dad's old Prowler Pro (17 volt) belt light. The battery was dead and going to cost about $135-150 to replace plus it weighs about 4 pounds. I tried an 18 volt lithium Ion battery from a Makita cordless drill on it earlier tonight. Wow. I ran it on the high setting (Tree shining bright) for two hours before cranking it back to 1/2 power (walking bright) and letting it run for two more hours. It showed no sign of fading. and this going from a 4 lb battery to one that weighs less than a pound. I'm ecstatic with the results so far but I now have a lot of fabricating to do to mount the rheostat and battery onto a belt. I'm going to be searching pawn shops for another one of those drills so that I can take the quick connect battery terminal and use that to attach the battery, when a battery starts going down I just go click and a it is on the charger with a fresh one attached to the light. Also this allows me to still make use of the drill. Ask around to the other cooners in your area. Odds are some of them have a light they aren't using anymore that with just a little ingenuity you can turn into a jam up good light yourself. |
