Post subject:  Marshall lighted collars

Just wondering how many hours of run time with the lights on guys are getting. Mine only get 20-25 hours. I'm afraid the threads are going to wear out in the collar from changing the batteries so often, and I don't think they are cheaper to operate like marshall advertises. Also has anybody tried rechargeables in them?

I have 2 Marshalls. One with lights and one without. At the beginning of season, I put fresh batteries in both. I hunted almost every night in November, averaging 3 to 4 hours a night. I had to change the batteries 3 times in the lighted one. I used the lithium in one change which advertises to last up to 7 times longer. Couldn't see any difference. The one without lights are still on the first set.

Directions that come with the collars say to not use rechargeables. You get just about what they advertise on the collars using regular duracels and energizers.

I know that they don't recommend rechargeables but was wondering if it would damage them and if anybody had tried it.

Post subject:  marshall vs johnson

I just wandered how the marshall compares to the johnson collars? I have had sevral johnsons and they always had better signal then wildlife,qt , and kleins. Just wandered if there as good as a johnson or not they are alot more for sure!

Everything that I have used rechargeables in that did not "recommend" them seemed to eat the batteries up 2x faster than regulars. I haven't used them in the collars, but I would imagine that they would eat them too.

Heck, for as much as Marshall claims their collar to save on money... don't you think if you could use rechargeables Marshall would recommend them?
