I started with a home made box that was the ugliest thing that you ever saw now I have a diamond delux and I like the heck out of it light and can be loaded by one person tried some of the others and it took two and then some to get it in the truck but try what ever you like heritage is a good box little heavy. Owens boxes are nice but never priced them not too many places round these parts to buy dog boxes good luck

Diamond Deluxe, unique and owens make very nice tread plate all aluminum boxes.
Regal, Heritage, and Houndsman Deluxe build nice wood boxes fully insulated and sheet metal over top of them.
Dans D-Lux and Patriot make very nice aircraft aluminum boxes that very light weight.
It is all in what you want there are many styles to choose from. Good luck.

just bought a new unique with 3/4 top storage and love it. Its got all the quality of the owens without all the price. Jason at clinch mountain outfitters has a great deal on them. www.clinchmtnoutfitters.com. $525 for small truck. Not sure about full size. Just my opinion but i would stay away from diamond deluxe. Havent had good luck with them at all.

I bought me a owen big t. I get to the top storage from eather side of the box. There is nothing that I cant reach in the storage. I also think they are the best dog boxes on the market.

Regal for the money. A little heavy, but warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Don at Stone Creek supply treated me great.

I wanted to bring this back up to the top, it's been awhile since it had a reply. I'm looking for a new box and wanted to see what if you all were still using the same boxes or if there was somthing knew out there. I did come across a plastic box from north star plastic it looked light weight and good sized. Anyhow thanks for any info

Have had a top storage Houndsman Deluxe diamond plate for 6 years and it is really holding up good. It's insulated and keeps dogs cool in summer and dry and warm in winter, came with door panels for winter.
