I went from a nite light box light still working after 22+ years to a Competition Light belt light this winter. While a box light is closer to your price range, the belt light is more comfortable and is like a the sun verses a bic lighter.

I did buy my son the Competition Light box light that runs $85. Dependable for the money.

I bought my Pro Lite on Ebay for 280 shipped and it was only 15 months old. I bought A Foggy Top for $35 and it was 2 years old. You just have to be patient and you will find one. If you need one now you can get a Nite Lite hot light for around 120. It will last you many many years and be very relilable. Not as bright but relilability is a big factor.

My 26 V was a left over from when Competition Light bought out Light Connection.

Technically it is a light connection light. I Bought it for $300 new with a reistat and no plug for a spot light. They said some guys down south request that configuration. So far I don't miss the spot light. The head is bright enough.

New 24V lights run $355. They have a few 26V belts in the display case for $385 but they are not manufacturing them.

IMO a Belt light is much nicer but a box light is more economical.

IMO I would get a box light if you have financial limitations. More candles for the buck. Then go for the belt light later once you can afford them in a few years.

Check out:

Their service is good from what I have seen and read. Product works well. I know several guys who use them.

i just bought a 24 volt competition light and wow that thing is bright i really dont even need to use the spot light and when i do use it it lights up the whole woods like daylight, it is very very light, and i just take the head off and keep the belt on when im drivin its pretty small and comfortable, they are a little more then what u are wanting to spend but i think its worth the money if ur really into coon hunting

I own a Pro Light 26 v belt light, what got me was the warranty and the burn time,if you haven't bought one yet check out the Pro Light.
I think it is a great buy and has been just great in the woods all night sometimes....

I did alot of research on all the belt lights and found out that the Pro Light has the best warranty and the lonest burn time...

Check out competition lights . They carry a 3 year warraty . If they cant get the light fixed with you over the phone then you send it back , then if they cant fix it within 24 hours of receiving it they will send you a new one .

Plottmaster not to be noisy or anything, but you didnt do to much research because here are the facts.

ProLite Pro 26v Belt Light:
Burn Time:
LOW SIDE:12-15 hrs.
HIGH SIDE: 3 hours
WEIGHT: 3 lbs

Bright Eyes 28v Belt Light:
Burn Time:
LOW SIDE:20-22 hrs
HIGH SIDE: 2 hrs
WEIGHT: 2 lbs

Not because i own one but bright eyes makes the best light in the business.

a belt lite is a series of battery packs in a row with a switch box and they are in a belt configuration so they light itself resembles a belt
