I'm probably going to buy a 12 volt box light from moonshiner lights. I was wondering if anyone knew if they were a pretty decent light. One of my buddies I coon hunt with has a moonshiner belt light and it works pretty good but I didn't know if t he box lights were as good as the belt lights.

I like my 12 v box. I just got it last week. the cheapest 12v i have found but it is probably one of the few that has the smart charger which is really nice. Its super bright and last all night. Its all i need. I would recomending gettin the diamond reflector and blue lens.

i e had mixed succes with the diamond reflector. i put in my 21 v belt light and really didnt like it it worked good on the low side by making a nice crisp light that was spread out alot without having to mess with the control knob on the head. but when i put it on the high side the light was to spread out to make a good spot so it was a little weak.. i like a tight spot off the high side so i decided to go with the regular refecor.

on the other hand i put one in my girlfrinends 6v light and it was great. did the same thing on the low side, and on the high side i still held a good spot..

so im gueesin from my experience is that these work better on smaller volt lights.. so yours might work well let me know how it turns out

I'm going to order the 12 volt box light tonight. I don't think I am going to buy the diamond reflector but I'm not sure. I know I am getting the blue lense though because I have been told by some of my friends and people that I hunt with say that they work real good.

But if I get the diamond reflector to I will let you know how it does banks.

Thanks fellas for the info.

The going rate on the diamond reflector is about ten dollars. I just put one in my 12 volt light and it made a real difference on both high and low side. I have a friend that doesn't like them though, he had the same problem as banks did. His light is a bright eyes 21 volt (I think). He said he lost some of the spot power on highside. I don't think his spot got weaker the way he said I think it just scattered the light beams more and the light cast off to the sides took away from how clear you could see on spot. I bought my reflector because I had a dead spot in the center of my light which the reflector fixed and did get brighter. The guy that showed me the diamond reflector also had a 12 volt light and it helped his light alot too. After I ordered the reflector I found out that the bulb can also cause the dead spot. Certain bulbs will sometimes cause it. I am not sure which number bulbs do what but the same guy that didn't like the reflector told me all this. I also have a blue glass lens on order, it should be here Monday at the latest I will post what results I get when it gets here. It could be that since the higher voltage lights are brighter to start with the diamond reflector scatters the light too much where the twelve volts aren't as bright and don't reflect as much to take away from the brightness of the spot. That would also explain why it worked on Bank's low side but not on the high side.

thats excatly what mine did bumpkin. i also ordered the blue lens to i put in my belt light and it was okay it made a good clean led light beam but. then i turned it to the high side and left it for about a minute just looking around in the woods playin and it cracked from the heat. that blue holds in the heat and caused it to crack.. it probally would be okay with a 12 or 6v, but if given the chance again i wouldnt buy them for me but would consider if i had a smaller volt light.

I will test mine on high side when I get it. If it cracks under the heat load I didn't want it anyway. I use my light for more than just coon hunting so it sees some use. Hopefully it won't crack but it is real cold here right now, so if it is going to crack it should happen rigth away on highside test for a few minutes. Might as well use this as a test and tune comparison. So far seems like the reflectors and the lens will help a 6v-12v light but might be a waste for a higher volt like 21. Sorry for getting off topic not trying to steal the original thread.

Since the 12 volt isn't such a big light I shouldn't have to worry about the lense cracking cuz its not making as much heat as a 21 or 28 volt light. But if it does crack ill let yall know.

Just like banks said lunchbox they make about 5 different pop covers. They pick out eyes of the coon in the tree. I have a great big spotlight at the house and if I can't see the coon with the spotlight then ill turn on the red light and most of the time il find the coon.

If your gonna get a cover i would recommend the red one but thats just me.

im planning on gettin the 21volt beltlight when tax returns come in but i was wondering if they come with a spot light. also if u have problems with the blue lens cracking, i got a really thick one from a buddy who ordered them i paid him $7 for it and it hasnt craked yet and doesnt look like it wil anytime soon. i think the blue lens works really good
