Had an idea to make a dog collar and tie out that locks after all the stories I've heard of people stealin dogs. Any body know if anything like this has already been made?

I am more worried about my dogs when hunting than when they are home.

Yeah but how many people out there carry a pair of bolt cutters to steal a hound. if you had a locking collar on it might give you enough time to hear some jack@$$ outside messing around with your hounds

UM, I would say thieves carry bolt cutters as that is there tool of the trade.

I am not a thief so I don't carry any breakin devices with me..........now if I was thief, do you think I would be empty handed when attempting to break in and steal something?

How many thieves out there ya reccon also have on their key rings different box lock keys so they can steal the contents of the dog box compartments.

Locks are useless when it comes to thieves.

Why even use bolt cutters? A strong pair of scissors or a knife will cut through the collar itself. Unless you're talking about locking a chain around its neck of course.

That's kind of the reason I never lock the door on my car. If someone has it in their mind to steal something, then they have already thought it through and will find a way to do it anyway.

I bought a 2 inch 4 ply nylon collar and stuck a large pin through it.I drilled out the pin so a lock would fit in it.

I know the thief will get what they want regaurdless but like folks said...not much you can do about that.

It does detour your average jerk though. The collar in the pictures couldn't be cut off very easy. The dog wouldn't sit still long enough for you to attempt it anyway.

My dogs get riled up when anyone is on the yard. The dogs would make enough noise that by the time the theif could get the lock cut, someone would be outside....or the video camera would catch it.
