Used a Furminator this weekend and they are what the hype on them is about - the real deal. I have a Redtick that had some undergrowth hair from the winter coat and it cleaned it out like nothing. Used it on my Lab and it looked like I was shearing a sheep. What I found amazing about it was on the short hair dogs where their coat looked fine, the undergrowth it pulled out. Now they are pricey in pet stores and retail stores that sell them - Med $50 and Large $60. But you can buy them off EBAY for around $20 with free shipping and on Amazon.com for about $20-$30. Here is more info on them: http://www.furminator.com/ |

I bought one last year and could not believe how well it worked. I nearly killed the wife when she told me the price, but as mentioned it works extremely well. |

We sell them where I work and I've sold them to professional groomers who swear by them. Whenever a skeptic comes in we grab our store cat and show the customer how much hair it can pull even when the cat doesn't appear to be shedding. They are indeed expensive (where I work at least!) but I have never had one returned yet. |

Yea, buying them off EBAy or Amazon is the best route...........PetSmart sells the Med for like $49..........If these other sellers are selling them for the well more than half the cost that places like PetSmart sells them, goes to show the profit margin markup. |
