dog use to run miles to get a coon. now he doesnt even locate and just falls treed. He wont even back a dog. Thought it was just backsliding now i think it is the guy who owned him before me messed him up. Seen the dog hunt before the guy owned him he was a monster. then there was the summer season and now i got him and nothing.
1. layed him up for a month 2. put him on some hot tracks where i know coons are 3. took him to trees where other dogs had the meat 4. started switching him off trees
all this is not working.
ill take any suggestions even if they are outragious.
the dog is all gran
has two wins both on coons no circle points

took him out last night with 2 other dogs that are 4 and my 1 year old pup. the first turn out he ran in and treed slick. talked the two 4 year olds into backing him, my pup dint.... thank god and treed 50 yards over top of them on a ridge by himself. wipped them off they all went to my pup. shot it out to my young one. turned out again he treed with the other dogs. shot it out to him and gave the other dogs there share. third turn out they ran in and treed all together. my pup pulls off the tree and goes a mile and trees by himself. they had coons in both trees.
