Post subject:  Dog not always running

I have a 15 month old bluetick pup that I've just started hunting good over the last month and half. Before then I had just took him hunting a few times. Sometimes he will run with my broke female and other times he will just wonder around. He has treed with her a few times but will show no interest other times. I ain't sure why he will hunt somtimes and other times will not show any interest. I have shot 2 coons out to him when he treed really good and he tore them up. What will be the best thing to do to get him on the right track? Thanks for any help. Matt N.

Just keep hunting him. Most dogs his age have had a lot more coon shot out to them..That can be good and bad..You want the pup to work to get the coon after they start treeing...As long as he shows interest in treeing.Id keep messing with him ..If you hunt him enough you should have a fair idea if hes worth keeping or not..
