My dog, wendy, has been shocked several times on deer, but she proved to me two nights ago that sadly enough.... she hasn't learned a thing, so i took her out tonight and did somethin a little more gruesome... i held for 15 or so seconds instead of 5..... she seemed to listen a little better, and for once she didn't come trotting back with a grin on (but don't worry, she got it back by the truck) i'm not reall sure if she's cured for now or not, but maybe she is.... So, have u guys ever had a problem with a dog needing some more shock to get it through their thick skulls??

I have a german sheaper american bull dog mix and she has been shocked various times for several diff lengths of times for ripping the chickens apart and it seems like every time it cures it for that time she is out of the pen but the next time she's out its right back to the same thing

My young blue male will take a level seven and it just doesn't phase him.....I wouldn't even want to try level 7 on myself.

Same thing here. My shocker goes to a level 8 setting. I have a walker pup who LOVES skunks. I didnt think it was working but when I shoved his head in the den and did it again I noticed his ear was twitching. That was IT!! No whimper whine yell or jump. I guess some dogs are just tougher than others

Most dogs take months to be anywhere near broke on deer. Then when you think there broke the next year they do it again..lol....It has a lot to do with the deers smell..At times during the year..Like when a buck is rutting they really smell and does in heat do also..Some dogs will only run a deer at that time of year. While others just like to run them for fun. Those are the really hard ones to break...Ive known dogs that were well known that were never broke off deer...They just loved to run them and every once in a while they would just take off..Those are the types of dogs you dont want to hunt with...

well, it seems that laying into the little girl has finally paid off, she actually jumps off deer tracks and takes a little side step and goes back to hunting for coons now. So, all i got to do is make sure i get a coon out to her and her sister... we'll get 'er!!
