i have a 3 yo male that wont leave if other dogs arent going or if another dog is barking in the box. he is a nice dog by himself or with company that will hunt. He is not really independant but not a me too dog either. also has a really good handle. im wondering if he has too good of a handle? can this happen? when i say handle i mean you can call him off a track or tree and you never have to put a leash on him if you choose not to. any ideas? iv never seen a dog that trees as many coons as this dog can do stuff like this!

id say take him in the woods alone for a week, every night. see how he does. then drop him with some old dogs that like to break out alone and see what he does.

x 2, The hardest part about training is paying attention to what your dog is doing and have enough smarts or enough experience to comprehend. And patience. The rest will come easy.
