How can I tell if my coon dog runs a coyote... she is usually pretty tight mouthed on the ground unless its a hot track. But tonight she was bawling around the woods like it was hot but she went way to far for it to b a coon ( I think) .

Find out if any fox hunters around you have a coyote or fox pen

She could be running a boar coon. They can run for miles this time of year. They also smell a lot stronger this time of year, so some dogs will open a lot more..

Ok I can believe a boar coon... ya she rolled into a chop like she was treeing but when I got there she fan to the water front Bayed one time went back to the big oak smelled as high as she could go and then just cut back out hunting!! Usually when she treed she is pretty Damn sticky! So her coming off just through me for a loop!

sounds like the coon played a trick on her, maybe went in the water. a lot of times when a dog is running a coyote you will hear the coyote turn around and bark at the dog, then take off running again.
