My dog is a 2 year old bluetick male who apparently comes from good blood lines. I got him when he was 6 months old and he had seen caged coons went nuts after them, tracked them with other dogs and did fairly well staying on tree before I got him. He has done a couple drags with skinned coons with lots of fat still on them for hopefully more scent and can find them about a quarter mile away. But last week I had a caged coon I hadn't got to mess with him over the winter, so Itook him out with the coon and took him up to it and he did nothing. He laid down beside it. But when my ex wife's bluetick she's about a year old came up and started barking at it he jumped up and went ape on it. We let the coon lose for about 20 minutes and I let him go first with the other dog following, he found the coon in 10 minutes staid on th tree fairly well, he'd come back and check on me and if love him real good and go back and stay on, tore it up when I shot it out. My question is should I be worried or upset when he didn't bark at tje caged coon?

most dogs that can or will track and tree coon won't bark at a coon in a cage. some will, but most won't.
