Yea a female is not as hard headed easier to train a male is typically alot calmer when fixed because he wont have so much testosterone running through his body anyone of the sexes are good I reckon but the female will be a hell of alot easier to train

I'm not saying I know very much, but my 11 month old stays in the house. He actually runs better by himself than with other dogs. It's all going to depend on the bond you build with the dog. Don't you do better at a job you enjoy and get good attention for.

Yea wasnt sure since most house dogs would rather be around you since it lives/sleeps/everything with you it would take other dogs to keep it out from under your feet in the woods.. Had a buddy that tried it and that was the outcome but all dogs are different.

Ok my dog lives in the house and yes it did take some time to get her to leave my side but..... Iv seen many dogs that live out side, and when u cut them they do the same thing so I don't think living conditions will make or brake ur dog! I do however think keeping one in the house will give u a better handle on them in the timber!

Living conditions no but the way they are treated because of them being inside maybe.. I take my inside dogs everywhere with me.. So if i take them camping all the time they stay around me in the woods at night.. Thats what i was trying to get at but if it works for yall thats great i just hunt a single dog by itself most of the time and could see something like that happening.

I have looked at the posts about hunting house dogs and there was not one person on this site who has said a dog will not hunt if it is a house dog on the other hand a lot of the old coon hunters around here swear it is a very bad idea and that they r tools not pets I would like to have a dog that pleasure hunts well and is a pet if I can't to that without culling a bunch of dogs to find one that will I will not hunt my walker is outside right now but he is the most loveable lil guy ever I don't know what to do I love to hunt but don't want to own a dog that isn't also a pet

If its in the dog to hunt it doesn't matter whether its inside or out. Some dogs just don't cut it to be coon dogs

Those old timers who say that are also the same ones who say hounds are stupid, and that you can't teach a hound obedience, I've also heard old timers say that petting your hound too much will ruin him for hunting. It's all uneducated ramblings! None of these things are true.

I tried to put that last post in another part of the forum because anyone who don't think a hound should be in the house probably will not even open this thread but the forum troll would not let me I guess so does anyone have any opinion the other way before I bring him in to stay
